Band Mission Statement:
FaceKicker was borne out of the love for all things metal, punk, and surf in 2018 as a San Jose, CA based trio who were lookin for rock in all the wrong places. We have one goal - to Kick your Face in with hard hitting punk rock until your mind is Jello, your ears bleed, you pee your pants, and you are sore the next morning in places that you can't talk about at the office.
The Band:
JBONE (JEFF) - Vox, Bass, Washboard. JBone grew up in the friendly frozen land of Canada, where he consumed a steady diet of raw onion sandwiches, Tim Horton's donuts, Neil Young, Rush, Teenage Head, and lots of other punk-metal-disco-psychodelicious tunage. After playing in a few bands in Halifax, he moved stateside where he was a founding member of Boston bands Munky and Spent Salmon. After moving to the more humane weather of Northern California, he started jamming with an axe slinger named TBone, and FaceKicker was born!
TBONE (TOM) - Vox, Guitars, Maracas and Oboe. Liable for all band pyrotechnics, catering services, and GPS navigation for FaceKicker. TBONE grew up in Orange County, a haven for amazing surf/punk/rock music since the 60’s. In between charging closed out sets at the Wedge and El Moro, TBONE burned up the fretboard in front of a mirror, spoon fed by: X, DK’s, Black Flag, B-52’s, DEVO, Ventures, Dick Dale, Zep, Hendrix, and Aerosmith to name a few. After searching for decades for his musical mirror image, he ran into JBONE in a barbershop one day and since then the volume knob only has only turned clockwise! Mix all of that up in a blender and you have the ingredients for a delicious FaceKicker shake!!!
Johnny Bones (JOHN) - A native of (pre-internet) Sunnyvale, CA, where the youth were free to wreak havoc as fast as your skateboard could take you. His older brothers turned him onto the good stuff at an early age and a set of old, blue sparkle, CB-700's followed soon after. Later, the drums were upgraded to Tama Swingstars and life-long friendships were forged in the town's burgeoning garage band scene. Incalculable hours of rehearsal ensued and the path was set.
Musical influences are too vast to list, but the soundtracks to such films as Blues Brothers, Repo Man, Rivers Edge, and Shaft all played vital roles.
Otters are his spirit animal. Despite an intense distrust of hippies, he loves the conga drum and can be found most Sundays in his kitchen, listening to traditional Cuban Folkloric music.
